Non-Surgical Body Contouring, Explained
June 28, 2026 · 5 min read
You eat well and you train — but there are areas that simply will not budge. Non-surgical body contouring exists for exactly that: refining stubborn pockets and firming skin without surgery or downtime. Here is how the main options differ.
CoolSculpting — for stubborn fat
CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling to target and crystallize fat cells in a specific area, like the lower abdomen or flanks. Your body then clears those cells naturally over the following weeks. It is not a weight-loss tool — it is a shaping tool for pinchable fat that resists diet and exercise.
EmSculpt — for tone and muscle
EmSculpt works on the opposite problem. Using electromagnetic energy, it triggers powerful muscle contractions — far more than you could do voluntarily — to build muscle and reduce fat in areas like the abdomen and buttocks. Think of it as strengthening and defining, not just slimming.
Skin tightening — for firmness
After fat reduction or weight loss, skin can look a little lax. Energy-based skin tightening stimulates collagen to firm and smooth, refining the final result.
These treatments refine a healthy body — they are not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle.
How to choose
Often the best result combines them:
- Pinchable fat → CoolSculpting
- Want more tone/muscle → EmSculpt
- Loose or crepey skin → skin tightening
Most areas need a series for full effect, and results build gradually and look natural — no sudden change that announces itself.
Realistic expectations
Non-surgical contouring is ideal if you are close to your goal and targeting specific areas. If your goal is significant weight change, we may start with our medically-supervised weight-loss program first, then contour. We will tell you honestly what will and will not help.
