What Dermal Fillers is
Dermal fillers are injectable gels, most based on hyaluronic acid, a molecule your skin already makes, that restore the volume and structure time takes away. At Estetika we use them across the face: cheeks that have flattened, folds around the mouth, an undefined jawline, hollow under-eyes, a nose bump camouflaged without surgery, thinning hands. The work is architectural: small amounts placed where your bone structure needs support, so the face lifts as a whole instead of looking inflated anywhere.
How it works
The gel integrates into the tissue and does two jobs at once: it occupies the space lost volume left behind, and it draws water, hydrating the area from inside. Placed at the right depth along the right vectors, a few milliliters redistribute light across the face, which is what the eye actually reads as "younger".
The procedure, step by step
After the consultation and facial analysis, the skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied; most fillers also carry lidocaine inside. Your injector places the product with a needle or a blunt cannula depending on the zone, massaging and checking symmetry as she goes. Plan 30 to 45 minutes for the full visit.
What to expect after
You see change right away, but judge the real result after swelling settles, usually within one to two weeks. Some tenderness and possible bruising in the first days are normal; makeup covers most of it once the entry points close. Avoid intense heat and exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
Results and maintenance
Depending on the product and the area, results hold from several months to over a year; denser structural fillers tend to last longest. Hyaluronic fillers are also reversible with an enzyme, which is a real safety net. Most patients maintain with one or two visits a year once the initial structure is built.
Care and limits, honestly
Swelling, tenderness and bruising are the common short-term effects; serious complications are rare but real, which is why placement by a trained injector matters more than price. Filler cannot reproduce surgical bone structure, and more syringes is not more beauty: when a request would look overfilled, we say no and explain why.
