What CoolSculpting is
CoolSculpting is body contouring by controlled cooling: fat cells are more sensitive to cold than the skin, nerves and muscle around them, so freezing a targeted pocket crystallizes the fat cells while everything else recovers unharmed. Over the following weeks your body clears those cells naturally, and the bulge shrinks. It is designed for the stubborn spots diet and exercise do not touch, abdomen, flanks, under the chin, bra line, inner thighs, not for overall weight loss.
How it works
The applicator draws the tissue in and holds it at a precise cold temperature. Crystallized fat cells undergo programmed cell death and are processed out through your lymphatic system over one to three months. Cells that are eliminated do not come back; remaining cells can still grow if weight changes, which is why results pair with stable habits.
The procedure, step by step
After marking the zone, a gel pad protects the skin and the applicator attaches with suction. The first minutes feel intensely cold and pulling, then the area numbs and most people read or nap. Each cycle runs about 35 to 45 minutes per area, followed by a brief massage of the treated tissue.
What to expect after
The area can feel numb, tingly or tender and look swollen or bruised for days to a couple of weeks; all of it is expected. There is no incision and no activity restriction, you can train the same day if you feel up to it.
Results and maintenance
Visible change develops gradually over one to three months as the body processes the treated cells. Clinical results average a measurable reduction of the fat layer per cycle; some areas benefit from a second cycle for further sculpting. Photos before and after are how we track it honestly.
Care and limits, honestly
Results vary by area and body, and rare adverse effects exist, including one where treated fat enlarges instead of shrinking, uncommon, but you deserve to know it exists; the consultation covers it honestly. If your goal is overall weight loss, our medical weight program is the right conversation instead.
